Middle Ages Instruments

One of the most popular instruments of the Middle Ages was the lute. This beautiful stringed instrument was played by both men and women and was often used to accompany poetry or vocal performances. The lute was made by hand, with the maker carefully carving and shaping the wooden body and attaching the strings to create a unique sound. I am proud to be the leading middle ages instruments maker and I have a passion for hand crafting beautiful lutes along with a range of other instruments of the time period.

The lute was not the only important and popular instrument of the middle ages, harps and citoles (to name a few) were also popular and remain such today. I specialise in creating truly authentic replicas of how the instruments would have been made, looked and sounded back then.
